Perfect Results in Imperfect Situations

When it's not possible or cost-effective to run the same test twice.

Tests in which components or isolators might fail, causing ground loop noise to corrupt or invalidate otherwise good data.

Environments where external noise sources such as AC power lines, capacitor discharge units, detonators, dynamometers, electric generators and motors, lasers, spark discharges or welders might adversely affect results.

New facilities, where data quality cannot be left to chance or rely on months of expensive troubleshooting.

H-Tech Laboratories. The Engineer's Choice.

When noise and interference make using conventional equipment impossible.

Originally developed for our own use on classified military tests, where all conventional signal conditioners failed to deliver good data, H-Tech signal conditioners deliver high-quality results in the most demanding environments. Pre-test setup is rapid and there's never any need for questionable post-test data massaging and filtering practices.

Reduces Noise Pickup

A modern package that fits between the transducer and data receiver, the H-Tech signal conditioner eliminates ground loops, noise, EMI and the need for study-courses on how to make noise-free measurements. By effectively treating the transducer and the data recorder as a single unit, the H-Tech Signal Conditioner allows engineers to capture data that are uncorrupted by noise voltages induced by unwanted ground loop currents and external electromagnetic fields. Test signals are never altered or filtered, as they are with conventional signal conditioners. This means you get clean, high quality data for every test.

Reduces Uncertainties in Data Analysis

The H-Tech Signal Conditioner injects a 1.000 volt precision square wave into the signal path just downstream of the transducer to provide an exact amplitude and frequency calibration of the entire electronic system to reduce uncertainties in data analysis. The end-to-end calibration can be controlled manually or by computer just prior to and following a test to eliminate questions concerning the performance of the electronic data recording system.

Rejects Common-Mode Noise

The unbalanced electrical output that is characteristic of all commonly-used piezoelectic transducers is converted to a balanced, differential mode to reject common-mode noise, from either ground plane potential differences, cable shield noise currents or EMI. Differential conversion of the transducer signal is unique to the H-Tech Signal Conditioner. Common-mode rejection ratio is more than 70 dB at 10 kHz and 56 dB at 100 kHz.

Blocks Ground Loops

The test device is fully isolated from the data recorders to block ground loops. The H-Tech Signal Conditioner uses a unique double ground plane design, employing hybrid electronics/electro-optics. The electro-optics is secured inside the signal conditioner, and balanced, shielded twisted-pair copper cable is used for signal transmission. The isolation mode rejection of H-Tech Signal Conditioners is greater than 110 dB at full bandwith.
